I respect B.J. as a fighter but I really don't care for his personality. He seems to be a spoiled little rich boy always wanting his way. Thiago Alves(if he gets past Hughes) will deserve the next WW title fight way more then B.J. will.

If you're a champion you're required to defend your title, you can't just decide the #1 contender isn't worth your time to defend the belt against. Maybe if B.J. has successfully defended his belt 4-5 times then he can talk about moving up to fight the champion in the next weight class.

That is exactly my point and I agree 100%. I think we all respect BJ as a fighter because he is so amazing, but he is so selfish and he's not happy unless he gets what he wants. He thinks he is so above and beyond everybody else that nobody else deserves a title shot.

In BJ's defence Florian, Huerta, or anyone else in the UFC LW division would just get absolutely destroyed by BJ Penn. I mean what's the point? The fans want to see BJ/GSP II. It'd be wrong for the UFC to deny us of that.

B.J. also hasn't won a single WW bout in 4 years, he doesn't deserve a title fight yet over the current #1 & #2 contenders. If B.J. wants to come up to WW to get a title shot he should have to win at least 1 nontitle fight prior to it. He can't just say "hey I want to fight the champ" and be able to do it based solely on name value over people who've actually gone out and worked their way up the division and won the fights that they had to put them in a position to get a title shot.

The UFC is one of the best organizations when it comes to giving title shots to non-deserving fighters, BJ vs. GSP II would be no different.
Shogun got robbed.

Absolutely.
Don't forget, it doesn't matter who really deserves the title shot...
it only matters what fight will draw the biggest hype/crowd.

It is the UFC way.
