For those of you MMA fans who live in the mid-atlantic, and have comcast, I have unofficially discovered that HDnet is on Comcast!! For literally years now, I have called, petitioned, and emailed my interest to have Comcast add HDnet to the lineup so that we could watch MMA from overseas like DREAM and whatever else winds up on HDnet fights. After recently adding an HD Tivo to my house, I discovered it was there all along...Comcast just kept it well hidden. Basically, when you get a Tivo device, you no longer need their DVR, HD Box, or regular cable box. They send one of their incompetent clowns over to install a cable card into your Tivo device. Everything works great and I'm saving the $15.95 a month I was giving them for the HD-DVR. The 1 and only drawback to using a cable card is that you can't use OnDemand...which frankly I never gave a crap about anyway. I can watch NetFlix on my Tivo which is a nice upgrade over the old box. Overall, the user interface is far superior with a Tivo. Now that I'm done babbling, here's the part about HDnet. Normally to get to HD-OnDemand, I had to switch to channel 801. Now that Comcast stopped broadcasting OnDemand to me (since I only use a cable card), the only thing I get on channel 801 is HDnet! Apparently those cocksuckers have been streaming their OnDemand Channel right over HDnet. Now I can watch DREAM, Inside MMA, and all the other shit I've been missing out thanks to a fucking channel that was blocking it. So to sum up, if you have Comcast in the mid-atlantic area, there is a way to get HDnet. Just buy a device like a Tivo, or anything else that requires a cable card. Some TVs have a cable-card slot in the back of them already to. You'll lose OnDemand access, but you'll save the $7.95-$15.95/mo your cable box is running you. Not to mention, you'll have HDnet. |
